The Awesome is an Inner Sphere Assault Mech focused entirely on Energy Weapons, making it comparable to the Clan's Novacat Heavy Mech. Being one of the the cheapest Assault 'Mechs, the Awesome doesn't have nearly as much Armor as the Atlas, but still mounts ferocious long-range firepower in a fairly durable chassis. All Awesomes, excepting the A variant, mount an LAMS to help the slow, cumbersome Mech survive Missile barrages, and large Heat Sink arrays allow continuous, controlled firing of the multitude of powerful Weapons, making the Awesome a powerful force on the battlefield. It should be noted that the Awesome's Weapons are mounted in a horizontal line on arms and side torsos making it more difficult to render an Awesome combat-ineffective, but this also means that the Awesome can be vulnerable to enemy fire before it can fire back due to the relatively low placement of its Weapons.

Prime

The Awesome Prime mounts 3 ERPPC's as its main Weapons, giving it a potent long-range punch. When coupled with Eoptics and 12 Heat Sinks, the Prime variant can lay down a continuous stream of deadly ERPPC shots at nearly any range, punching through Armor and disorienting pilots. A single ERLBL serves as a powerful backup weapon, suitable for disabling smaller Mechs and Vehicles, as well as for dealing with any pesky Battle Armor that may try to sneak up and ambush the Awesome Prime.

Though equipped with a multitude of Heat Sinks, the heat generated by the 3 ERPPC's is still tremendous, so care must be taken to use Coolant effectively to avoid untimely power downs.

Canon

Originally designed during the Star League era, the Awesome is a powerful Assault Mech built around an impressive array of Energy Weapons. It can operate for extended periods of time both as a defensive Mech and offensive Mech because it doesn't rely on ammo. This allows it to win battles by bleeding it's enemies ammo stores dry.
