The Locust IIC is a Clan light mech. While it carries considerably low armor for a light mech, it makes up for this with its high movement speed clocking in at 130 km/h (181 km/h with MASC), 360° Torso yaw to see in any direction and hit-and-run weapons loadouts. A front-line unit making it a excellent anti-infantry BattleMech with capabilities to harass heavier BattleMechs.

Roles and Gameplay Hints
Prime
Variant A - "Al-Azif"
Most brütal locust variant, using its array of 4 HMGs, 2 MGs to shred metäl flesh off your enemies. Watch their blööd flow in rivers while listening to their screams. Unleash fires of Hêll as you bring ATM 6 HE filled judgment upon them. Smell those burning côrpses, as you seek another sacrifices for your ascension.
Unless you suck ass at aiming and can't aim even if your life depends on it... if you can't focus fire on a single component then don't bother, you will just spray them all over and be a laughing stock that tried to brawl (lol) in a Locust
Variant B
Variant C - "Hangnail"
Just because its practically cheaper Cougar Echo without jump jets, does not mean it is not usefull variant. Rather dangerous at medium range even against heavy mechs. Using its duo of ATM3 and single cERML at around 700m range, with its speed and 360° torso twist, you can keep nailin' slower mechs untill you hit a wall (or other obstacle) and then they will nail you, if they have the range. Dont give them chance to do that.
Other strategy, when part of a deathball, is to use your allies as meatshields and peek from behind them when your weapons are of cooldown
Variant D
Variant E
Dangerous variant in theory, with its quad cSPLs, it is capable of 600 damage in single alpha, combined with low heat and fast recycle time, it could deal devastating damage to enemy mechs. BUT thats on paper, in the field you are unlikely to land all shots on single component at optimal range, as well as you are unlikely to survive for long under enemy fire.
MASC when gotta go fast, mostly when bogeys are on your 6 and want more than just your 6

Variant G
History
The Locust IIC released in version 0.11.0.
Canon
One of the best-known BattleMechs in the Inner Sphere for its low production and operation costs, the Locust is also well known in the Clans. In 2832, Clan Mongoose unleashed an upgraded version of the venerable 'Mech on the Clans, known as the Locust IIC. The speedy design complemented Mongoose tactics, enabling them to win many Trials. When Clan Smoke Jaguar absorbed the Mongooses, they became the owners of the production line on Circe. This subsequently fell to Clan Jade Falcon following the de facto annihilation of the Jaguars. In addition to those three Clans, Clan Wolf has often used the Locust IIC as a garrison unit. Since it is a second-line unit Inner Sphere MechWarriors rarely see it in action.
