There is often something going on at all times in the MechWarrior: Living Legends community. Events are always announced in Discord (in #mwll_events or #mwll_events_announcement), on the r/mwll sub-reddit and on the MWLL Forums; they are also open to all players regardless of skill level, unit affiliation or seniority within the community.
Here is a brief overview of events that are organized by players for players:

General Events
Chaos March
Chaos March (abbreviated to CM) is a weekly event organized by members of the MWLL community for the MWLL community that usually takes place starting at 20:00 UTC/GMT every Saturday and Sunday, with occasional drops on Fridays. CM, in a nutshell, involves organized combat between two sides over worlds in various kinds of combat operations that are the basis of an external strategic layer.

Ishiyama - The Black Mountain Cup
Ishiyama - The Black Mountain Cup (abbreviated to Ishiyama) is an organized 7 vs 7 Terrain Control tournament. It was originally created to alleviate the complete lack of Terrain Control matches in organized play settings while balancing player-count concerns that would otherwise scuttle tournaments with larger teams. Ishiyama's format consists of two sections: a round-robin mode followed by an elimination round using the rankings from round-robin mode to determine seeding. As a result of this setup, Ishiyama is scheduled over two weekends instead of one to prevent teams from playing too many matches in a single day.
Currently, Ishiyama accommodates up to six teams for a total of 42 players. Each match is setup up for 50-minute, 500 ticket rounds. The map upon which the teams play is selected randomly from a pool; teams are allowed three map bans each as an element of meta-game strategy.
Because of the level of player commitment required to drive Ishiyama, this event occurs quite infrequently, usually once every three to four months. The format may change depending on turnout.
Ishiyama's main document is here; any changes to the format are made there first.
Solaris Arena Championship
This somewhat-irregular event is often a series of Solaris Arena matches played with a particular theme, often a weight or faction restriction. While the Solaris Arena events may maintain a leaderboard or have a scoring system for determining rankings, they are largely non-competitive in nature; the main objective is to simply come together and have fun.
Read this forum thread for additional information on this event.
Training Events
Events in the community are not limited to organized play only; there is usually some form of training event being planned or scheduled. While anyone can participate in training events, they are specifically aimed towards newer players, including those playing MWLL for the first time.
Open Training Day
Open Training Day is an opportunity for players new to MWLL to get some one-on-one time with veteran(s) to work on the basics of the game: buying assets, moving around, understanding combat and engaging in friendly sparring. It also serves as a place for more established players to learn a new asset class, specifically aerospace or VTOLs. This event typically takes place on Saturdays on a special server and is closely tied to The Proving Grounds.
Terrain Control 101
Similar to Open Training Day, Terrain Control 101 (TC 101) provides an avenue for players who have the basics down pat to hone their skills further in MWLL's most popular game-mode. TC 101 has recently moved to a 'drop based' format, where interested players drop into public matches alongside veterans. Players are encouraged to sign up in advance and include a specific learning goal/objective -- the veterans will seek to help player refine this aspect of their gameplay during the event.
Should there ever be enough interest and commitment, an alternative format of TC 101 exists where the matches take place entirely separate from public games, providing a more controlled environment which is significantly better for grasping more complicated concepts such as the tactical and strategic elements of MWLL. Like Open Training Day, TC 101 is usually slated for Saturdays and is also tied to The Proving Grounds.
